Besides basic microphone pickup, mixing, and desktop amplification technologies, the main technologies of a conference system include audio transmission technology, digital control technology, computer management technology, high-fidelity reliability technology, and corresponding control and management software.

Early conference systems used analog audio transmission, resulting in relatively simple control technology. While they could meet most of the functional requirements of a conference system, their analog audio transmission method generally led to the following problems:

1) Over long distances (over 50m), the signal-to-noise ratio, channel separation, and frequency response characteristics deteriorated, resulting in poor sound quality.

2) Large conference systems experienced significant interference due to grounding issues (e.g., from lighting equipment, industrial electrical equipment, communication equipment, and broadcast television).

3) When using multi-channel simultaneous interpretation systems, each language required a separate transmission line. Multilingual transmission resulted in complex transmission lines, numerous connection point failures, and compromised reliability.
